Ingredients

  • 4 cups frozen watermelon chunks preferably pre-frozen for best texture
  • 1 cup ice cubes add more if needed for extra chill
  • 1-2 tbsp honey or agave syrup optional, for added sweetness
  • 1 tsp lime juice optional, for a hint of citrus

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

  1. Place the frozen watermelon chunks into your blender, along with the ice cubes.
  2. Add honey or agave syrup and lime juice if you like a touch of extra flavor and sweetness.
  3. Blend on high speed until the mixture is icy, smooth, and slightly fluffy, about 30-40 seconds. You should see the texture become granular and very chilled.
  4. Pause the blender and check consistency; add a few more ice cubes if you want it extra frosty, then blend briefly again.
  5. Once the slushie is thick, icy, and well blended, pour it into chilled glasses to keep it cold longer.
  6. Optionally, garnish with a small wedge of lime or a sprig of mint for a fresh, eye-catching finish.
  7. Serve immediately with a spoon or straw, enjoying the cool, juicy texture of your homemade watermelon slushie.

Notes

For best results, freeze watermelon slices ahead of time. Adjust sweetness to taste, and add extra ice for a more icy texture. Feel free to experiment with herbs or a splash of sparkling water for different variations.
