Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk preferably whole milk for creaminess
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract adds aromatic vanilla flavor
  • 1 vanilla bean vanilla bean split and scraped for specks of vanilla
  • 2 cups ice preferably crushed for easier blending
  • 2 tablespoons sugar optional, for extra sweetness

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

  1. Measure out the milk and pour it into your blender.
  2. Add the vanilla extract and scrape the seeds from the vanilla bean into the blender for intense vanilla flavor.
  3. If you like it sweeter, pour in the sugar to balance the vanilla's aromatic richness.
  4. Top the mixture with the crushed ice, ensuring it's evenly distributed for smooth blending.
  5. Secure the lid on the blender and blend on high until the mixture is smooth, icy, and fluffy—about 30-45 seconds.
  6. Stop the blender and check the texture—if it's too thick, add a splash more milk and blend again for creaminess.
  7. Once the slushie is creamy with tiny ice crystals and vanilla specks visible, pour it into glasses.
  8. Serve immediately with a straw and enjoy the aromatic, icy coolness.

Notes

For extra flavor, garnish with a vanilla bean pod or a sprig of mint. Using crushed ice makes blending quicker and easier for a smooth texture.
