Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh lime juice preferably freshly squeezed
  • 2 ounces tequila blanco or silver variety
  • 2 tablespoons simple syrup or agave syrup for extra sweetness
  • 2 cups ice cubes preferably crushed for smoother blending

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

  1. Place the ice cubes into the blender, ensuring they fill about half the container for a good starting point.
  2. Pour in the fresh lime juice, then add the tequila and simple syrup onto the ice.
  3. Secure the lid tightly and turn on the blender at high speed.
  4. Blend until the mixture is completely smooth and has a thick, slushy consistency, with no large ice pieces visible.
  5. Stop the blender and check the texture; if it’s too thick, add a splash of water and pulse briefly to loosen.
  6. Once the desired smoothness and chill are achieved, pour the slushie into glasses.
  7. Garnish with a lime wedge or salt rim for extra flair, if desired.
  8. Serve immediately with a straw, enjoying the icy, tangy refreshment.
