Coke Slushie

This Coke slushie is made by freezing a bottle of soda until solid, then blending it into a thick, icy consistency. The ice crystals form a bubbly, granular texture with a bright, fizzy flavor profile. It results in a visually appealing, semi-rough icy treat that’s both refreshing and nostalgic.

Ingredients

  • 1 bottle coke (or any soda) chilled or room temperature

Equipment

  • Freezer
  • Blender

Method

  1. Pour the soda into a clean, resealable plastic bottle, leaving some space at the top to allow for expansion during freezing.
  2. Tightly seal the bottle and place it in the freezer on a flat surface. Freeze for at least 4 hours or overnight until completely solid.
  3. Remove the frozen soda bottle from the freezer and let it sit at room temperature for a minute or two to slightly soften the exterior.
  4. Break the frozen soda into chunks using your hands or a sturdy spoon, aiming for small, manageable pieces.
  5. Add the soda chunks to a blender and blend until the mixture becomes slushy with a granular, icy texture. Pause to scrape down the sides as needed.
  6. Pour the slushie into glasses, and serve immediately for a cold, fizzy treat that’s packed with icy bubbles.

Notes

For a smoother texture, you can add a splash of lemon juice or top with a swirl of whipped cream. Use diet or zero-sugar sodas for fewer calories, if desired. Avoid over-blending to maintain a chunkier, more textured slush.
