Blueberry Slushie

This blueberry slushie is made by freezing fresh blueberries and then blending them into a smooth, icy drink. The key ingredients are blueberries and lemon juice, resulting in a vibrant, textured beverage that resembles crushed ice with bursts of berry flavor. The final appearance is a frosty, deep purple drink with a refreshing consistency.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh blueberries preferably frozen overnight
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice for brightness

Equipment

  • Freezer
  • Blender

Method

  1. Place the blueberries in the freezer and let them freeze overnight until they are solid and icy.
  2. Remove the blueberries from the freezer and transfer them directly into the blender jar.
  3. Add a tablespoon of fresh lemon juice to the blueberries to brighten the flavor.
  4. Blend everything on high speed for about 30-45 seconds until the mixture turns into a thick, icy mash with a slushy texture.
  5. Pause and check the texture—if it's too icy, add a small splash of water and pulse again until smooth but still refreshingly frozen.
  6. Once the slushie is thick, scoop it into glasses, and optionally garnish with a few fresh blueberries or a lemon wedge.

Notes

For a thicker texture, add a few frozen banana slices. Serve immediately for the best icy crunch. If it starts to melt, give it a quick stir or shake before drinking.
